ARRO partnered with Beano Studios and DC Thomson to design and manufacture a series of bespoke festive lighting motifs featuring some of the Beano’s most iconic comic characters.

The concept transformed the streets of Dundee into an outdoor illuminated gallery, with each street showcasing specially designed installations that reflected the city’s bold personality, creativity, and character.

Inspired by Dundee’s heritage, culture, and status as a UNESCO City of Design, the bespoke motifs incorporated references to the city’s historic jute and textile industries, its maritime legacy, and its internationally recognised innovation within the gaming sector.

The result was a distinctive festive lighting scheme that celebrated Dundee as a unique city with a unique past, combining playful storytelling with contemporary design and cultural identity.
